Public Award for Customer Excellence, sponsored by the
Burnley Express - This award celebrates the very best in
customer service, customer retention and good customer
relationships management. The businesses were nominated
by members of the public and voted for by readers of the
Burnley Express.
Haffner's butchers were nominated by Alex
Nearney.
"I am a long-standing customer because of the
excellent quality and consistency of Haffner's products.
However, my son is a science teacher and he wanted a
'pluck' (the windpipe and lungs of an animal) to
demonstrate the workings of the respiratory system. John
Haffner said he would try to get one but when I went in
to collect it the usual supplier didn't have one. He
then said he would ring round and try to find one. When
I called the next day the 'pluck' was there and they
charged me absolutely nothing. My son was able to
demonstrate lung inflation and deflation to an
enthralled class. Now that is customer service!"
